Shipping Perfume and Cosmetics from China to Pakistan by Air

Cargo specialist reviewing sealed perfume and cosmetics containers with protective inner packaging

Perfume and cosmetics can be shipped by air from China to Pakistan only after the exact product formulation, quantity, packaging and airline requirements are reviewed. Perfume, aerosols and some alcohol-based products may be dangerous goods; creams or non-flammable cosmetics can require a different handling decision.

Mohsin Air Cargo uses an indicative PKR 2,750–20,000 per kg range. Cosmetic liquids and dangerous goods may require specialist documents, packaging and limited airline capacity, so they should not be quoted as ordinary cargo without review.

Before supplier pickup: Send the exact product, ingredient or composition data, container size, total quantity and current SDS/MSDS. A photo of a bottle is not enough to determine transport classification.

Why perfume needs special review

Many perfumes contain flammable solvents. Classification depends on the actual formulation and transport data, not the marketing name. Aerosols also have pressure-related requirements, while nail products, sprays and other cosmetics can present different hazards.

Product type Information needed
Perfume/fragrance Composition, flash-point data, SDS, bottle size and quantity.
Aerosol cosmetic Propellant, pressure container, quantity and SDS.
Cream/lotion Ingredients, liquid characteristics, container and leakage controls.
Nail/beauty liquid Solvent composition, flash point, quantity and SDS.
Powder cosmetic Composition, particle/product data, packaging and SDS where requested.

Documents for perfume and cosmetics shipments

  • commercial invoice and packing list;
  • current SDS/MSDS matching the exact product;
  • ingredient or composition statement where needed;
  • manufacturer and product specifications;
  • clear product, inner-packaging and outer-carton photographs;
  • dangerous-goods declaration where applicable;
  • Pakistan permits or certificates for regulated products.

The SDS transport section supports classification, but the accepting operator can request additional evidence or reject the shipment.

Packaging for liquids and glass containers

  1. Use secure, compatible closures and check for leakage.
  2. Protect each bottle from impact and contact with other bottles.
  3. Use suitable inner containment and absorbent material where required.
  4. Keep containers upright when the applicable packaging requires it.
  5. Fill empty space so units cannot move.
  6. Use a strong outer carton appropriate for the contents and weight.
  7. Apply only the correct required marks and labels.

Retail gift boxes are not automatically transport-grade packaging. Read the air-cargo packaging guide.

Eligibility and booking process

  1. Submit product data and SDS before moving goods.
  2. Confirm transport classification and available operator channel.
  3. Provide units per carton, bottle volume, cartons, weight and dimensions.
  4. Follow the approved inner/outer packaging instructions.
  5. Share final package photographs and documents.
  6. Approve the final chargeable weight and quotation.
  7. Dispatch only after written acceptance.

How perfume and cosmetics affect price

The PKR 2,750–20,000/kg range may be affected by:

  • dangerous-goods classification and declaration;
  • specialist document review;
  • approved inner and outer packaging;
  • limited airline routes or capacity;
  • leakage protection and added volumetric weight;
  • Pakistan tariff classification, permits, duties and taxes;
  • China pickup and Pakistan delivery locations.

The normal 7–14-day target can be extended by classification questions, repacking, operator approval or customs review.

Pakistan customs and product compliance

Airline acceptance and Pakistan import permission are separate questions. A product accepted for transport can still require customs classification, labeling, registration, permits or other regulatory compliance.

Use accurate values and product descriptions. Consult the current FBR Customs Tariff and obtain qualified advice for regulated commercial cosmetics.

Common mistakes

Mistake Risk
Calling perfume “beauty products” Conceals information needed for flammability classification.
Using a generic SDS Document may not match the actual formulation.
Relying on retail packaging Bottles may break or leak during cargo handling.
Mixing undeclared liquids with general goods Creates safety, refusal and enforcement risk.
Assuming small bottles are exempt Quantity and packaging rules still require review.

Frequently asked questions

Is every perfume classified as dangerous goods?

Do not decide from the product name alone. Classification depends on the actual formulation and applicable transport data.

Can creams and lotions use general air cargo?

Some may, after review. Composition, volume, packaging, airline policy and import requirements determine acceptance.

Is an SDS mandatory?

It is commonly requested for product assessment and can be essential for hazardous formulations. The operator may require additional documents.

Can cosmetics meet the 7–14-day target?

Potentially, after complete acceptance and readiness. Document, packing, airline or customs questions can extend it.
